September 2019: $900,000.00 settlement with hospital and physician for providing wrong medication to client causing severe reaction.

Our client was an elderly woman with many health conditions. She presented to the emergency department with chest pain and high blood pressure. The client’s chart clearly listed that she was allergic to a certain class of medications. The defendant ordered and the hospital staff administered a drug that was clearly in the class of drugs to which plaintiff was allergic. She suffered from anaphylactic shock and severe angioedema requiring intubation and two and one half months in the hospital. She required assistance with activities of daily living upon discharge. She was able to move to a proper living environment and hire the help she needs to get through her day to day life.
